Tremor Media, a global video advertising network based in New York City, announced the addition of an automated content filter to screen the videos with which it pairs its ads. The screening of videos will be accomplished through a partnership with ContentWatch, a global Internet safety monitoring service. Flagging of inappropriate content will allow Tremor Media to guarantee brand safety for its advertisers.
Tremor Media’s mantra on ad placement is “Professional Content Only- No UGC,” which maintains positive brand experiences for its advertisers and minimizes risk of a brand being associated with questionable content.
“As our network continues to grow to meet the demand for video advertising on network of sites, the need to scale and automate the monitoring process becomes an increasingly critical commitment we make to our brand clients,” said Jason Glickman, CEO of Tremor Media, in a prepared statement. “Part of the Tremor Media promise is to guarantee a brand safe, well lit environment as the foundation of our network, and we intend to do anything and everything in our power to deliver that promise to every client.”
Content Watch’s new software service, ContentProtect Live, will be implemented over more than 1,500 URLs where Tremor Media places video ads. The system is intended to guarantee that no advertiser’s message accompanies objectionable material that may harm the brand. It reports results of analysis in realtime within the API or in CSV files for uploaded URL lists. Each URL is analyzed, listed, and scored for each category, such as Pornography, Adult Mature, Alcohol and Tobacco, and so forth.
